I've built a portal type product using Struts/Tiles. I've also built stand-alone webapps using just Struts.
Is there a way to deploy a Struts webapp as say a .jar file such that it could be referenced as such from the main Struts host?
Example:
http://myportal/Welcome.do
Deployed webapp:
http://myportal/mywebapp/Welcome.do
Yes, I could combine the code and create the webapp as a subapplication, but I don't want to mix the code as they are completely unrelated and maintained separately. Also, there may be changes to the webapp and I want to be able to deploy and update that without having to update the portal.
The only way I've found thus far is to VHost at the app server level each webapp and link to them from the portal.
