According to the Img Tag, the image link can have a name and property from a bean.
This is good, but does anyone know what datatype the image would be stored in......If it is FormFile, it has only properties to read.
I am trying to read and image from the database, and rather than write it to the servletcontext real path, I just want to hold it in an instance variable in a bean to be displayed.
Has anyone done this?

Not too clear on what you want to do but I'd refer you to the docs for the html:img and see if the name and property attributes really mean what you think they mean. See
