Dear Ranchers,

After 6month preparation for SCJP 6.0 and taking ExamLab mock exams (Thanks a million for this brilliant product from Daveka ), I am in doubt if I can schedule for real exam or not. I've scored in final exam (from ExamLab) 54% and my Average Score in all exams is 55%.
Another important thing that I need to be sure about it, is the recent changes that is occurred 4-5 month ago. You know that some exam topics has been removed (such as Serialisation, wait & notify , ...) and more importantly, passing score and also total number of questions are also updated. So, with these changes and to pass the real exam, are my scores enough? Can I make a plan for that?

Thanks for sharing your ideas

Devaka's exams are much harder and trickier than the real exam. I also scored low while practicing and got 63% average score. I got 70% in final exam the night before the exam. I think you should focus on your weak areas and solve as much mock exams as you can if you do that maybe you should schedule your exam after 2 weeks or so . Best of luck.

May I know your final score? and was your exam format included recent changes?

I scheduled it for next week, is there any hope to pass it? (I should mention that I want to take SCWCD 3-4 days after SCJP )

Thanks again
Nasser

In my opinion, you are ready for the exam.
However, you should keep focusing on your weak areas as Ali said.

Nasser, why do you need two user accounts at JavaRanch?

Many thanks Daveka,
My main concern about creating this topic was comparing ExmaLab's results to the new exam format details (such as passing score, time and..) and what score is ok to sit the real exam BTW, thanks for comments guys and I hope to do that

I m sorry for duplicate accounts, but I've just forgotten my password on the second account and since I was really looking for any answer, I need to create the second one... BTW, I should not the second one, coz I've found my account details

Thanks again Daveka,
actually, it made me hopeful

I scored 98% ,here is my story .My exam was the recent format of 60 questions passing score 58% .And next week seems very reasonable to me but like I said try to strengthen your weaknesses and solve a LOT of mocks that way when you get to the real exam you will feel confident just like you're taking another mock. And Wow you're gonna take SCWCD just after that ! Good luck champ go for it

I agree with Mr. Cooray, I too think that you're ready and Ali's right, you should keep focusing on your weak areas. I think it's also true that there are some testing centers that already updated their exam. I know this for a fact that I've taken my first exam at 2 testing centers. I've failed at my 1st try taking the 72 questions with passing of 65% and passed the 60 questions passing score 58%. Note that I've took them at different testing centers with 5 month gap. The 1st was on July 20 and the 2nd was Dec 4.

But getting back to the topic. Again you are ready, but still you should keep focusing on your weak areas. Good Luck!
