I am running jboss admin console
http://127.0.0.1:8080/admin-console
JBossAS Servers : JBoss EAP 5 (all) : Applications : Enterprise Application (EAR)s
The option to install a new EAR file "Add a new resource" isn't showing.

What could be the cause? I logged in to admin console as admin.

I don't see a reason why that button is absent. I just tried it locally with AS-5 and i see that it's present on that page. Since you are using EAP (the supported version), you are entitled for support. Have you tried asking them?

Jaikiran,
Thank you for responding to my post.
Your confirmation that this button shows up for you prompted me to experiment a little.
I launched Firefox v3.5 on my PC and discovered the button to add a new resource DID show up.
By default the jboss admin console was opening under IE6.
Even with IE6 fully maximized, I am not seeing a horizontal scroll bar to scroll to the right.
I am deducing admin console is not being rendered correctly with IE6.
Maybe it's time for me to replace IE6 with IE7 or even IE8.
Thanks.

I had a feeling that it had to do with the browser, although i wasn't sure. I use Firefox, and don't have access to IE. From a "support" point of view, i don't know where IE is supported or not.

I think that I have seen some posts in the JBoss forums that hinted that some things in the Admin Console were not working correctly in IE. There is probably a JIRA issue regarding that.
