Hi all,
today I received a message from SUN confirming that I'm a certified enterprise architect
As many others I received a P result with 0 score for part 3 which made me sick as I wasn't sure whether I passed or not. So to all with the same situation - yes, it means that You've passed as well.
I hold all members of this forum in high regard for all study hints and tips.
Thank You all and I wish good luck to all who attend this certification.
And here are my thoughts after part 2 and 3.
1. Keep it simple in terms of concept. It doesn't necesarilly mean that the resulting design will be simple.
2. Follow the rules. I decided to use minimistic approach. No more, no less than it was stated in the task description.
3. All unclear statements from the task require careful explanation in the assumptions section. The problem is not that some elements of the problem domain are unclear. The point is to locate them and explain how do You understand them and what assumptions do You make.
4. Be logical.
5. For the part 3 - be prepared for questions about realisation of nonfunctional requirements. The point of these questions is 'why' rather than 'what'.
Resources:
1. javaranch
2. cade's book
3. enterprise java patterns
4. sl-425 course book (mainly for understanding of risks)
And now it's time to celebrate

Congratulations!!!
I just passed my SCEA Part I. I will soon start working on part II, is part III based on part II submission. I mean would the questions be in relation to your submission or general design concepts.
Thanks,
GA

Hi GA,
There will be a general standard questions prepared already for part 3 related to assignment.
For example, What technology/framework used in your architecture to satisfy one of the non functional requirement, why?. If no technology/framework is used, justify your decision.
That means, questions will not be framed/asked after reviewing your assignment.
Best Regards,
Sri.

I did my SCEA part 3 on 18th october 2009. still i did not get my result in the certmanager and still no reply from whom2contact
i think i might have failed, but in that case also they should inform me, right.
What should I understand from all these?
Still they are evaluating, or they lost my assignment, or what?
