SEAM s:decorate template attribute?

I really need help understanding s:decorate in regards to when a template is being used.

On shoppingcart.xhtml we have..



and edit.xhtml is...




The immediate problem I am having is that extra label elements are getting thrown into the outputted source code. And it is pushing the real Label we want (with messages.promotionCode value) in further to the right.

How do I prevent this from happening?
