This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
You should treat part 2 and part 3 as one part. As they graded together. Moreover, it's impossible to fail exam only because of part 3, because it could bring you only 24 points in best case. So, if you will fail you will need to retake both part 2 and part 3. How do you like this Sun's trick?
Komandir is partly correct. Parts 2 & 3 should probably be considered as a single exam. The part 3 written exam is used to verify that you were the person who created and submitted the part 2 assignment. If you did not complete the assignment yourself, you will probably be unable to answer the questions in part 3, and you will fail.
However there is no retaking of the part 3 exam. Even if you fail the assignment, the answers you provided will still match the overall assignment submission. So all you need to do is resubmit part 2.
When you look at the Sun SCEA overview page, you will see that while there is a specific item for resubmitting part 2, there is no corresponding retry part 3. That is because you do not have to retry part 3.
If you look at the Sun SCEA part II details, you will see the breakdown of points for part II. (You can also look at the part III description if you like). You will see that there are no points allocated for part III.
Andrew, I have assignment in front of me. And there is directly stated that for part 3 short answer you can get 24 point at max. So, if there is no resubmission of part 3 you will stay with points you got in previous essay or what? Also I am not sure that essay still will be relevant if you resubmit assignment.
