I have heard that instanceof operator in java is a performance issue,

Is it true for Javascript too (IE6,IE7,IE8,FF,Chrome,safari,etc.)? any links to authentic papers would be helpful.
I Need to know this from knowledge point of view.

for reference, I have also posted this same question at another forum:

I really doubt you're going to find "authentic papers" on instanceof performance in JavaScript. And I agree with everything that has been said on the StackOverflow site.

What is stopping you from running your own tests?

Nothing.

I will post results of my tests here soon.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
