Hi,

I want to create a java application that blocks the browser to open a list of urls and pornographic sites. I don't know where to start. Can anyone help me with some advices?

Thanks,
Ramona

If this is for your own use, the $40 for Net Nanny or similar software would probably be worth it. $40 wouldn't pay for an hour of my time, and this project is non-trivial.
If this is for an academic exercise, you should start with understanding how networking works in Java.

If you want to do some programming yourself, start with Muffin HTTP proxy and add whatever additional features you can think of.

This looks interesting to me as well, but the link to the zip file is dead. I checked sourceforge, and the latest package is ten years old. Is there a more up-to-date repository out there? Or did I miss something?

No, it really is that old. I wouldn't necessarily recommend that for everyday use -although it probably still works as well as it did back then- but for someone who wants to do some programming in this area it might be a good start.

Thanks Ulf,

I found the Muffin and I found anoher one PAW, but I want to start with some theory for understanding the process and then to develop one or to use an open source.
