Hi Friends..
I passed the exam today. Only thing I got from the test center was a paper saying "Unofficial test results" 82 % and grade : pass.
Does anyone know how long it takes to get an actual certificate from springsource ?Do I need to do anything from my side to get the certificate ?
Oh and if anyone is interested, I studied from Spring in Action 2nd edition. I looked at the forum and lot of people have studied from the reference doc... kudos to them. It is an extreamly dry read I couldn't force me more than 50 pages.. The book is good though..
Spend lot of time studying core spring - containers, scopes, been interaction, lifecycle etc. Less emphasis is given on less popular technologies such as spring web framework and jmx, email, batch jobs etc.

Congrates Jogi! I am also planning to go for spring certification. did you refer only spring in action2 book? should we use document related to spring 3.0 or spring 2.5? does exam depend on the current release of Spring?
Thanks.

Thanks.
I used only the book. Did not read the reference material however if you are planning to read ref. material, I would advise you to read 2.5 and not 3. (Assuming you are attempting 2.5 certification)

Hello,
Did you get your soft copy of the certificate? How many days it will take for the soft copy?
Will there be any hard copy sent?
Please clarify.
Thanks

Hi Jogi,
Could you please tell me which of the following option you produced to be grandfathered candidate :
From :
Spring Grandfathered Candidate
* Demonstrable evidence of (1) successful Spring solution completed. Evidence will include customer name and contact information reference.
* Demonstrable evidence of adding value to Spring Products and/or the Community. Candidate should provide supporting information from one or more of the following examples:
o a. Forum post
o b. Software patches
o c. Articles promoting Spring or explaining Spring
o d. User Group involvement
* Possession of a Spring Framework Professional Certification from a previous version of Spring.
Is there any letter/ document required from the company which person is working in ?
Or
what kind of proof did you provide to verify that you are a grandfathered candidate?
Hope you will answer this early as I need to decide upon how to go ahead for this cert.
Thanks in advance.

http://www.springsource.com/training/certification/springprofessional
says this
Prerequisites : Core Spring Training from SpringSource or Certified Partner
does that mean that you have to take their course first ?
or you can just study by yourself and go ?!

That's sort of ridiculous, why can't someone just pay the exam and go for it ?!
Looks like you have to pay $2500-$3000 to get this certification.
