I picked up Learning Java and have started going through it. I am getting really tripped up with setting a frame to true. I have done all but copy and past from the book. Could you all take a look at it please?

The problem is at "frame.setVisable( true );"

If it helps my java version is 1.6.0_17

Hey;

The issue is the spelling of frame.setVisible(), see below...

From your snippet
# frame.setSize( 300,300 );
# frame.setVisable( true );

Hope that helps,

just a quick tip...if you're asking for help getting something to compile, it's of great help if you post the actual compiler error. You may not think so, but those few lines give you a LOT of info on what's wrong, and can greatly help folks reading your post focus in on the exact problem.

There are only two hard things in computer science: cache invalidation, naming things, and off-by-one errors

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
