Hello everybody,
I had tried to run my application on mobile but it gives me error as "Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS]".
but actually i had not installed the application before.
I also tried to uninstall by command

"adb uninstall InfoTest.apk" then it givesme error as "Failure".

I also tried to installl application using
"adb install -r InfoTest.apk" but it gives error as "Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_INCONSISTENT_CERTIFICATES]"

Thanks

You are getting that error because an application with a package name same as your application already exists. If you are sure that you have not installed the same application before, change the package name and try.

Else wise, here is what you can do:
1. Uninstall the application from the device: Go to Settings -> Manage Applications and choose Uninstall
OR
1. Uninstall the app using adb command line interface: type adb uninstall <name of the package>
After you are done with this step, try installing the application again.

I'm just starting out with Android development (I've developed Windows applications using Delphi and embeded uP applications using C for years) and I'm finding that whilst I can uninstall my test applications from the emulator itself the quick way, via the adb cmd line, gives me a failure message. Why is that? I went over to using the adb because Eclipse is sooooooooooooo slow. Is there another way to QUICKLY update the apk file for the application I'm developing at any given time? I want to be able to change the code and see the results now - not next week!

Any help given thankfully received.

Using adb from the command line is pretty quick - matter of seconds. We can't take a guess what's going wrong without seeing the error message, though.

As Monu said in his post, "adb uninstall" takes a Java package name as parameter, not an Android package file name.
