Dear All,
I am having a copy Header.jsp with static menu(same for all users) inside it as backup for safer side. After having some problem in Header.jsp, which has code for creating different menu for different user. I deleted the later file and rename copy Header.jsp to Header.jsp. The problem is that after after users logs in, he is getting the same dynamic menu which is incorrect as i already replaced this with the static menu file. Can you clarify the reason for this

Here is probably what happened. The JSP compiler depends on the JSP file's last modified timestamp. As long as the file does not have a newer timestamp than the last time the JSP compiler compiled the JSP, then it will not recompile. So I assume that the "copy Header.jsp" file has an older timestamp than what the "Header.jsp" had. To get the JSP compiler to recompile it, "touch" it to change the timestamp.
