Great start learning. I (and many others) recommend the book: Sun Certified Programmer for Java 6 by Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates.
What is SCAP? Do you mean SCJA? Because there are no prerequisites for SCJP.

Abhishek please Use A Meaningful Subject Line when you start a topic.

I've never heard of any certification named SCAP, and you don't need to do ANY certification to go for SCJP...
