All these years I have been scoffing at "social networking sites". Recently, my daughter convinced me to try it out. I thought, hey, what is there to loose. If nothing else, I can say, yes I have used it and find it a waste of time.

Anyway, I have an active Facebook account and added my friends from the Ranch. Big question. What next?

I've heard Wikipedia described as a MMORPG as well.

That video explains it pretty well.

I am on orkut and not yet "upgraded" to facebook as I see no point in doing so. It'd be more or less same, I think, and anyway my friends are still on orkut, though they are migrating slowly.

I have my profile on orkut. I login once a day to see what other people have to say (it's available on first page) - sometimes they get really innovative on it. If they add any new picture or video, I see that notification on first page, if I am free & it looks interesting, I follow that.

I haven't started updating my status ('what you are up to' thing) which is a great way to spam. I want to save it for important updates. I haven't started adding pictures or videos yet.

Though I am using orkut since quite long but I am a novice user, I can say.
