Hi everybody,
Can anybody explain how to create a editor like Gmail where transliteration is supported.
whenever a space is triggered AJAX call is made and the text is replaced with the response text.I want to know how the javascript code is written or any other concepts are involved in such type of effect.

Hi Abhilash,
You might consider using GWT toolkit for generating the mail app. Check out this URLs

onkeypress look to see what was typed. If a space or punctuation than look for the last word.

Try doing it in parts, forget about the Ajax half right now.

Sorry Abhilash I couldn't see your messages.
You could keyPress() method of jquery and check for value of spacebar event.Keycode = 32 or something
and in keyPress method you could make a ajax call
Eg:

$('#target').keypress(function(event) {

$('.result').load('ajax/test.html');

});

Hope this helps

I think what eric meant was to first develop the scanning part to check for user entered words.
Do the AJAX call in the second stage of development.

thanks salvin for reply....
ok i got it what eric mean.whenever a space is triggered iam checking the word and iam also able to make AJAX call to the server side script and return the result but iam not able to send the second word when space is triggered again.
Since,the whole value with the previous word is available to send to server side script.

Hi after a long time....
I got the solution from the below link where i can type in local language for all my forms in my application.
JavaScript provided in the below site allows users to type in local language...
on every key press the respective language character is going to displayed instead of every space like Gmail...

http://www.higopi.com/
finally got the solution, of course not exactly like Gmail editor but to an extent...
Thank You every body for participating...for your valuable discussion...
