Hi,
I am preparing for scwcd 5 and i think it will take couple of months for me to prepare and take up the exam. And now that we are expecting SCWCD6 in 2 -4 months i am in confused state about which exam to write.
Actually i want to know even if the new exam comes up how different it could be in terms of syllabus .
Like in scjp 5 and scjp 6, there was not much difference... only 4-5 hours of extra learning time for scjp6.
So will it be a similar case here too??

Are we? Servlet API 3 has some substantial changes (asynchronous processing, use of annotations) - I wouldn't expect a new version of the exam this year. Do you have inside information (or informed speculation) on this?
No .. i don't have any information about SCWCD6 exam...
i asked this question because some thread in this forum talks about the upcoming SCWCD exam because of some change in the specs ...
Any more information ???

You could read about it Here and here. I'm starting my studies do SCWCD 5, if the exam has been updated when my time come, patience. I'll do the 5 and think about update to the 6 later.

I wouldn't worry about when the Java EE 6 versions of exams are going to be due. For starters, there will be a few months from when the betas are announced (or, frankly, the requests for SMEs to weight the priorities for the test) until when they're available generally. Further, I don't believe that any of the application servers besides Glassfish are Java EE 6 compliant - the test really won't be valuable until there's a market for 6-specific software development. Worry more about 5 - for which there's plenty of servers - and you can prep for 6 when they start announcing it.
