Sun Certification

Hi

I'm studying Java over the internet this year. I'm doing the following certifications from Sun:

Sun Certified Business Component Developer for the Java Platform (SCBCD)
Sun Certified Developer for the Java Platform (SCJD)
Sun Certified Enterprise Architect (SCEA)
Sun Certified Programmer for the Java Platform (SCJP)
Sun Certified Web Component Developer for the Java Platform (SCWCD)

I'm currently busy with SCJP and I'm finding it quite easy with the knowledge I had beforehand.

What I'd like to know is, are these certification worth while and will it get me anywhere in terms of large scale application and web development?

Thanks

Welcome to JavaRanch. If you seriously study for all those certifications, you'll certainly know how to build Java SE and Java EE applications.

We have separate forums for all those certifications here on JavaRanch, so if you have a question about a specific certification, then please ask it in the appropriate forum.

Good luck with your exams!

I didn't mean that you cross-post the same question to other forums... please do not cross-post.

For practice exams and questions for SCJP, see our SCJP FAQ - the link is in my signature below.

Wow! Looking at your ambitious plan for certification I must aim high too.

I bought all the content of all those certifications in one package. It's a lot cheaper than buying each one separately, though you only get access to the content and the online support for one year. Hopefully I'll be able to get it all done.

It's only cheaper if you pass all the exams within that one year.
