Repeat Rule in Registering alarm using Event List

I am having a little problem using the Event List of JSR 075 to register Alarms through my application.
What I want is the alarm should repeat every Day till some fixed no of Days, say for a month from now.
The documentation given with the apis of JSR 075 suggest the following..
//To specify the associated event occurs every day for the next five days: setInt(RepeatRule.FREQUENCY, RepeatRule.DAILY); setInt(RepeatRule.COUNT, 5);
I tried implementing the same with an emulator(S40) and a device Nokia E-63.
However the results in both weer unsatisfactory,
The emulator threw an illegal exception and device went on to repeat the alarm for endless nos of days, both undesired.
Please help me out of this mess
