Fileupload + struts2

Hi,
I have 2 questions
1) Anyone tried to upload file using struts2 with https..??? If so what is the max size you guys tried for the same.
2) I am trying to understand that when the file is uploaded from the browser is it going to store into memory first before it stores in the tmp file...?? or directly stores the file by stream wise in to the tmp file...?? hope you got my question.
