hi, friends i am facing problem in my Dell Studio 15 Laptop ,
OS: Vista 32 bit SP1

my laptop starts automatically at 00:00 mid night . i dont know what is wrong with it !
i checked all start up process to find out a clue of problem but unable to solve it
any idea

Look in the control panel at Scheduled Tasks.

peter thanks for replying but i'm not able to find any task that might be the root of my problem
auto-start uses my laptop battery unnecessarily ,wasting power that i don't wan a do !
any suggestion?

Look in the Event Viewer at the Application and System logs. Those might give you a clue as to what is running at that time. Possible reasons could be virus scans, backups, or even defragging.

Also, check your network cards to see if you have "wake on LAN" set.

If you have valid support you may contact DELL team for resolution of issue, incase nothing works.
