Windows XP color change

I found my Windows XP look and feel suddenly changed after I restarted it. All the red icons, arrows became golden color. The background and screen saver were unchanged. Everywhere there was red color, now it becomes light golden color. I can't recall I made any display change before I turned off PC last week. How can I change those icons color back to red ?

Everywhere? Even if you change your desktop to a solid red background? If so, your video card might have gone out. If you have a CRT, it going bad could also be the cause (I'm not sure if an LCD would exhibit this kind of behavior).

If it is not everywhere, and just for that one icon, then you would have to replace the icon with one that has the right color scheme. Depending on a lot of factors, this might mean replacing the icon in a .exe or .dll file.
