Hi Francesco,

What are the new and/or enhanced features/capabilities in JBOSS AS 5 compared to previous versions?

Thanks.

Hi! Just to mention a few:

-the kernel has been rewritten to use the POJO-microcontainer architecture, instead the older JMX approach
-different server structure with new shared lib repository and new server configurations
-new (better) JMS provider
-better clustering support
-enhanced Web container capabilities (Tomcat 6.0)
hope this sounds interesting.....
regards
Francesco

Thanks Francesco...

Is it built in to the AS now? In 4.2.x I think we should install it as a separate instance?

Yes, while JBoss AS 4.2.x came with JBossMQ, 5.x comes with JBoss Messaging. AS 6.x will come with HornetMQ, if I am not mistaken.
