Do a search on "chm" in your software repository (a.k.a. package manager), most distros come with a variety of CHM readers. I know that both Gnome and KDE come with one.

I am fresher to linux and I am currently using fedora10 . I dont exactly know what Gnome and KDE although I've heard of. I would really appreciate if you can explain me a little about them. Thanks

Thanks for your link. That package comes up with zip format. I haven't deal with zip format on linux, so far I have used tar.gz etc ... Is there command to extract zip on linux? Thanks ..

I think that all Unix version have an "unzip" command. If yours does not, try Java's "jar" command, which can handle zip files as well.
If you are using Ubuntu, then you are using Gnome. Gnome runs your desktop, it is the windows manager. KDE is an alternate windows manager.

What do you mean by "it"? The repository or the CHM viewer? I will assume you mean the CHM viewer. All you have to do is double-click the CHM file in the file manager and the viewer will open the file.
I should point out that there are several CHM viewers. Since you are running Gnome, you should install the CHM viewer for Gnome.
