Problem Implementing Struts2

Hi

I am trying to implement a simple helloWorld example in struts2. i am getting the following error

Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of class org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener

I remember long back i implemented the same example without using any applicationcontext.xml i am unable to figure it out why its asking for it now.

Because you have a Spring context loader listener, so it's trying to start up Spring.

if i remove thi part from web.xml



i get an error

Element type "struts" must be declared
