Hi guys!
Just to let you know that yesterday I passed the SCJP exam with 93% score. This is how I prepared, perhaps it's useful for someone to read this:
- read the Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates book; buy it, it's really worth it! Even if you weren't studying for the certification, it's a great book. Also, the cd that comes with it contains a great program with mock questions and exams
- read that book again: you never get everything at the first reading, especially the most difficult bits that then you find in the toughest questions
- code, code, code: there's nothing better to really learn how things work
- ExamLab: this is really a great tool, I found it great for practicing. 5 complete mock exams, with very difficult questions and very good explanations. If you can pass this, you'll surely score more than 90% in the real exam. I never got more than 60% in those exams, and then scored 93%. And, this tool is free!
Thanks to you all guys, it helped me a lot to follow this forum, and when I had questions you were always great!
Cheers
Mattia

Congratulations, Mattia for such a stunning result. Thank you for all your tips and most of all for convincing me to try out ExamLab. I downloaded it today, did the diagnostic exam and quickly discovered my weaknesses. It's much better than the simulated exams provided on the Sun Java web site (which are gone now anyway it seems, after the Oracle-Sun merger).
