Hi Members,

I joined a new company recently. Since one week I am sitting either idle or reading the documents related to project in which I am going to work. I want to utilize my in better way. So I want to learn the new things.

I have confusion between Websphere MQ and Webservices. Since project using both the technologies. So which should I select for better future? I have around 3 yrs of experience.

Thanks in advance !

Neither one is "better" than the other. Websphere MQ is a specific integration product managed by specific company. "Web services" is an integration technology involving many different products and styles.

You should learn "messaging" using message queues and also learn "messaging" using web services. Once you have a basic understanding of both, then you can determine which one "you" understand "better" and then focus on that one. So, the "better" one is determined by "you" and is mostly influenced by your level of technical aptitude.

Good luck!

Thanks James,

For valuable suggestion. Could you tell me that From where should I start to learn this messaging? I looked just little bit both the technologies but still I am thinking about the "Which one first" kind thinking.

Thanks in advance !

Messaging is a general design strategy, and among other things, it's at the heart of most GUI windowing systems. It's a tactic that every well-trained designer should be familiar with.

However, the underpinnings for MQ and web services are probably best understood by learning JMS.

Customer surveys are for companies who didn't pay proper attention to begin with.
