Problem in Validator framework

I have aproblem in validator frmaework which gives javascript in jsp.
<html:javascript formName="addform"/>
<html:form action="" onsubmit="return validateAddform(this)">
I have been using this command.But it is validating the reqiued validation but is not working in email,mask validation.But is working fine in server side validation.
Secondly i am not getting the error display for minlength
<arg1 key="$(var:minlength)"
resource="false" />
It cannot take 3 in the error message it gives $(var:minlength) in the message...
