First thanks to one and all for this rocking forum...i am spending lot of time these days following different threads. Ok now the business, i was trying to build an webservice with SOAP using SOAP attachment. My goal was to return a file from server to client (say picture in few mega bytes), i tried searching from 2 days all i can found was some tutorials and codes that test the code only in serverside and display at the server using System.out.println. All i want is retun something from server and being displayed at the client. I am running very short on time, thought it will n00bish to ask before searching at all. but now i am paying for that.

Edit: I am looking for pure Web Service methodology , no EJB's Please.

Please help me guys, thanks in advance,

Kumar.

Hi!
Have you seen section 10.3 in my SCDJWS 5 study notes?
You can download the document for free either at http://www.javaforum.se/jforum/posts/list/549.page or in the SCDJWS Links here on JavaRanch.
Best wishes!

See the articles "Transferring files over a web service" and
"Sending SOAP attachments using SAAJ" in the WebServicesFaq.

You are absolutely right!
There are also instructions in English. However, if you find that webpage too difficult, please do not hesitate to head over to the SCDJWS Links section here on JavaRanch!
Best wishes!

OK, since I know that browsing the internet and finding resources sometimes can be very difficult, especially when using a computer, I'll post the direct link:
http://faq.javaranch.com/content/Exam-Objectives-5.pdf
What you do is that you move the mouse pointer to the above link. When you are "in position", you click the mouse.
Don't click too hard, or you may damage your mouse!
Good luck!

By the way, my name is Ivan, not Ian.
