can we deploy the war file automatically to jboss deploy folder.thanks in advance

Yes, you can place the .war to the deploy folder of JBoss and it will get deployed. Is that what you meant by "automatically"?

no i meant the copying of war file to the deploy folder automatically

Are you saying that you are going to copy it ("automatically") through some build script? Irrespective of how to copy it to the deploy folder, the file will be picked up for deployment. As a side note, if the file copy is in progress and not completed yet, then the hot deployment scanner can end up picking a corrupt file for deployment. So a better option would be to "move" the file to deploy folder (which is an atomic operation).

Are you using an IDE? (If so, which one?) Are you wanting the IDE to "automatically" deploy the WAR?

No i am using ant to build the project. i want the war file created as a result to be deployed automatically to the jboss deploy folder

Then add a target in your Ant build script which will deploy the created archive file to the application server.
What's the problem?

The 'copy' task comes to mind...
 
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
