hi i have some 100 web pages (just plain html) have to give a search option to find the a word or a phrase in whole document(100 pages) how it can be done.can be done using java script?if so how?

No, JavaScript can't do this. If this is a Java web app (meaning you can run Java code on the server), then Lucene would be a good choice - it's the best Java indexing/searching package, and it comes with example code that shows how to index HTML.
