Why only Maps and List is supported for tags

Why is that only Maps and List are support by the JSP tags. Why not the Sets and Queue ?

That greatly depends on what you mean by "JSP tags". I can write a tag that can handle anything. Are you referring to the JSTL tags?

Yes, JSTL .
And also in EL only Maps and List are supported . Whay is that?

Because they're much more commonly used constructs. I can't remember the last time I used a queue.

Hmm... is it just because they are less used, they are not supported by JSTL....

Well, when the JSTL was being created, they certainly couldn't choose to support everything! So they picked what they thought would be needed most often.
