Developing XML Diff using java

Hi Guys,

I am developing an application that compares 2 xml files and outputs whether they are same or different. There might be some cases where i need to ignore certain tags. My current implementation takes these tags as strings and i ignore them. However, i must be sure that these tags are unique otherwise all the occurrences will be ignored. To replace this, i thought of using an xpath instead of just the tag. In this way, i will be sure that im ignoring only the required tags.

Im using the Diff and XMLUnit provided by custom monkey. I tried to read through the docs for Diff, DifferenceListener but all i could find was how to ignore a tag but not an xpath. Is there a way to implement this?

If anybody needs, i can even upload the code. I'm not doing it now because its a bit long
