Hi,all

I'm going to have my essay exam on Thursday. Therefore, I tried to upload my assignment, but when i select either
Sun Certified Developer Assignment for Java 1.1 or Sun Certified Developer Assignment for Java 2. It returned the following message when I clicked the continue button:

You do not have the rights to upload that assignment. Press the "Back" button on your browser and try another assignment. If you feel that you should have the ability to upload, please email us at SunCert@Prometric.com for assistance.

I downloaded my assignment in last May.

Any suggestions?

Roel De Nijs ,

Thank you for your quick reply. I've booked my Essay exam on 18th, March, 2010. So I was too nervous to find the scjd fag.

I found an very interesting topic just now. The exam price for the SCJD assignment exam is down to £76. £76 only!!! I paid £310 eight months ago!!! Can I get the refund?

SCJD assignment

Another topic I found was: summit

It seemed Sun changed to rule to upload the assignment. So which one should I use? Upload the assignment here http://www.certmanager.net/sun_assignment/ or do as the prometric said, email the assignment to the developer-submit@oracle.com?

Hum... I doubt.

Interesting. Apparently, now you have to send the assignment via email, but it looks like it is still possible to upload the assignment via Certmanager. Well, I'd say that you should send the assignment via email, but I think it is a good idea to try to call them or send an email to the good old who2contact@sun.com (or the new developer_assignment@sun.com).

Hi, all

To: Carlos Morillo
Thank you for your reply.

The following was what I did today:

Call the UK Sun customer service. The answer is Wait!. There is no any direct line to get the upload right. The Sun staff just suggested me to email suncert@prometric.com to get the upload right.

Then I told them I would have my essay on Tomorrow (18/03/2010). What if they fail me because my late summit?
The Sun staff suggested me to email ses_uk@sun.com to let them know it is not my fault to upload my assignment after I take the essay exam. They shouldn't fail me for this point.

So, I followed the Sun's suggestion and email to Sun at the following address:
ses_uk@sun.com; suncert@prometric.com; who2contact@sun.com; developer-submit@oracle.com

Guest What? I received a replay from xxx@sun.com with a single message:

PEASE ALLOW 7 BUSINESS DAYS FOR A RESPONSE

I was shocked. I paid £310 for this crab service.

Finally, I told the Sun stuff I found also another way to summit the assignment in Sun website:

When you have completed your assignment and the Part 2 essay exam, email the assignment JAR file as an attachment to developer-submit@oracle.com. Make sure you understand what is to be included in the JAR file. When you send your assignment to developer_assignment@sun.com please include your Prometric ID in the subject of the message.

The stuff suggested me to use both ways to upload my assignment.

This what I found today, hopefully it will help somebody like me!

Howdy,

I've been waiting for a week but there is still no reply from any of them. So I called the UK Oracle Customer service again. This time the stuff gave me a new email address (suncert_ww@oracle.com) to require the upload right. I've sent the email just now, but I don't know how long I need to wait.

I'm very disappointed for this kind of service. I don't know how long I still need to wait. Is there anybody uploading successfully after March?

Anyway, I will regularly update this topic until I can upload my assignment successfully.

Howdy, Pkinuk!

Champion, I know this may be frustrating, but it is certainly because of this Oracle-Sun transition... when I took this certification, things were pretty simple. Hopefully, you'll get an answer sooner than you think... and pretty soon, you'll also be a SCJD!

Howdy,

I received the reply from suncert_ww@oracle.com today. Here is the copy of eamil:

Please send your SCJD assignment to us at this email address developer-submit_US@oracle.com.

We will process it when we receive it. We apologize for the delay in responding to this. Our process has changed slightly and we have been sorting out the new details.

Please be sure that you include your Prometric Testing ID/ Candidate ID when you send your assignment.

Howdy, Pkinuk!

Hum... so maybe it means the old who2contact@sun.com is retired, and now we have to send emails to suncert_ww@oracle.com, and to request the rights to upload the project, we have to use developer-submit_US@oracle.com.

What do you guys think?

Howdy, Roberto!

I'm not sure if this the temporary way to upload the assignment. If this the formal way to upload the assignment, why don't Oracle/Sun specify on their home page?

I think the combination caused the internal chaos in Oracle/Sun. They don't even have time to update the SCJD information. As I mentioned above, the price of SCJD assignment exam dropped down to £78 last Tuesday, but I checked the same page again today, it became TBD. They can't even manage to set the SCJD price.

I've chatted with Oracle in the US; they said they received the assignment OK and should email a reply by Monday. The respective system has been down all week but Oracle are doing the assessments in-house now which should reduce the lead time for getting the assessed results.

Lucky you!

I received an email asking for me to take the exam, even thou in the three emails I had sent them that I had taken the exam and had emailed them the assignment. Apparently once the get confirmation of my exam I will enter the marking queue. I replied with a rather stern email saying that I had already taken the exam and the whole certification has turned into a complete joke to me. At this stage it has been almost 2 months since I did my exam and 2 and half months waiting to get any reply from my assignment submission. Who knows how long the actual marking.

Being slightly more open about the whole process and providing come kind of feed back would have made a whole lot of people a little less frustrated.

To add to this there are messages in the forum that the certification has dropped significantly in price since I took the exam. So I should of just waited for these guys to figure out what the hell they are doing and saved my self over $200!

I sent an email to Oracle on 26.04 and got an instant reply that I will get a response in 7 days. I didn't. I resent the question, this time didn't even get a response. I hate this.

Hi, all

I uploaded my assignment 7weeks ago but I haven't heart any news from Oracle/Sun. So I emailed them to ask my exam result 2 weeks ago. I haven't received any reply from them.

Is there anybody uploading their assignment in March and get the results?
