Hi All,

I am new to Eclipse GANYMEDE IDE and using it to create a struts 2 application.

I want to know when i deploy my struts application to app server does IDE automatically creates .class for corresponding .java file?

If not then could anyone please let me know how to compile action class file for Sturuts 2?

Thanks in Advance.

By default Eclipse automatically compiles .java source files into .class files. You can change that via the Preferences, under General | Workspace, the Build Automatically checkbox.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for reply.

I checked the check box also as per you suggestion. But in vain.

I am still getting following exception while deploying application.

building automatically is nothing to do with this error.

It is saying that there is no local[eclipse] copy of the server in which you try to deploy. remove the server from your eclipse first window-->preference-->server-->runtime environment.

and then configure the server again.if you dont want local server copy, while configuring server uncheck the "create new local server".
