Hello All,

I am trying to encrypt passwords in jboss but I am not interested in using a datasource to do this. I am trying to just use xml for masking but do not know enough to begin this project. I found an article at http://community.jboss.org/wiki/EncryptingDataSourcePasswords and wondering if I should follow this step by step. I am using JBOSS 4.3 eap and one of the user feedbacks seems to say there are problems following that website's model for 4.3. If anyone has any feedback I would greatly appreciate it. TIA.

Are you trying to encrypt the password used in the datasource file (-ds.xml)? Or are you trying to encrypt some other password? If the latter, then which file contains that password and where is it used?

Hi and thanks for the reply. I have written a simple java proram based on the SecureIdentityLoginModule. I have built it so that the main class can be run and takes a password parameter and returns the alpha-numeric string, however, I need to 'hook it up' to use the datasource-ds.xml file. Could you give me some pointers on how to do this?

Thanks.
