as per the headline. Once a client makes a booking, should all other clients be notified of this? There doesn't seem to be a requirement for this, but in real life this is the kind of thing I think would be an implicit requirement.
I've seen various discussions about this on the forum but no real consensus. Similarly should clients be notified if the server shuts down?
I'm using RMI for my network protocol. If I need to notify clients then I've got to use RMI callbacks and from my initial attempts at this, I would need to serialize things I don't want to (such as GUIs). So I suppose I favour not doing it...
