How about if we display twitter status in signature?

I know everything takes time & effort and this post is not a request to add anything as such. It's just to discuss what's possible & what's useless & such stuff...

Right now, I believe Twitter is only used for book promotion announcements.

Why would you want the option for having book announcements (or other announcements) in your signature?

Not Javaranch's twitter status. It's about showing your own twitter status in your signature. Am I clear now?

Intriguing idea. While I'm not sure if we want to incorporate it exactly like that, it does bring up the valid point that Twitter is a widely used communications medium for tech folks - so we'll add a Twitter handle field to people's personal profiles, which will turn into clickable link for anyone looking at the profile, similar to the personal website field. So it's at least possible to discover someone's Twitter feed if they want to share it here. As to taking it beyond that ... I'd say that's food for some internal discussion.
