I passed the SCWCD on Friday with 94%.

I studied the Head First Servlets & JSP book mainly, with light supplemental reading of the JSP spec as necessary to clarify points in the book.

I DID read it twice, took notes, and worked every example. That took so long, that the two days before the test, I re-read the book to refresh my memory. The second read through the book probably bumped by score up about 10 points - at least it did for the practice exam.

I scored 75% on the practice exam first time through, 85% the second time through, and 94% on the final test.

Congratulations and Wow! You scored better than your SCJP exam two months ago. And with only two months, that's awesome how were you able to work through the Head First Servlets and JSP book twice. Which part of the SCWCD seemed to be the most challenging?

Thanks!

Though tempting, I reread it again in the last two days before the exam WITHOUT working any of the problems - only reading for understanding. That helped solidify concepts that were fuzzy the first time through - at least, they were fuzzy to a person who hadn't developed JSP's and servlets before.

Hm, the most challenging part of the exam were those bits that weren't in the book. Not reading the spec fully probably cost me 2 questions, so I'd advise NOT reading the entire spec - it's huge! Your time is better spent nailing the material that is covered in the book.

I took extensive notes, but they felt superfluous after reading the book 2 times. They are available here, in case you need some assistance studying, however:
