I previously had ExamLab scjp 5 running smoothly on my machine. I'm having trouble installing(launching) the ExamLab for SCJP6.
The ExamLab scjp setup runs fine and issues only start when the Microsoft Jet driver installation begins. I get asked if I'd like to keep some already existing Microsoft Jet drivers that were already installed in my machine because they are newer than the ones currently installing. I say yes and setup completes with sucessfully installed message. Only I can't launch the ExamLab Scjp6. Could somebody please assist?

Hallo Devaka,
I forgot to include that my machine is running on Windows XP. Do I delete pre-existing Microsoft Jet drivers and reinstall ExamLab Scjp6 afresh?

That beta version should work on 'any' version of Windows. It doesn't require the JET driver - you don't need to install, reinstall, or uninstall the JET driver

Devaka,
I was too quick to write that it works. Now I'm on the simulator's front page where on the right are Diagnostic exam, Practice exams and final exam. I want to start with the diagnostic exam, I click on it and nothing happens. On the left I get questions like "What do you think about out software?..." and Thank you for using Exam Lab. How does this software work?
Thanks.

Well, being a beta version, it may contain some errors. In general, you should be able to start the diagnostic exam by clicking the button. If not, you *might* be able to do that after changing your screen resolution to 1024 by 768 pixels and then restarting the software. I'll look into this problem with the next release

right-click setup file > properties > "compatibility" : tab > "run this program as administrator" : check-box > ok
Run setup again.
or try running from win xp inside virtual box : requires some work and "research".
hth.
good luck for the exams.
PS : Viruses easily accessed my registry but poor ExamLab could not !

First, thank you very much, Devaka!
Second, I know this is an old thread but I had the same problem as Idi Achi and found I could get Examlab.exe to work on one
of my systems.
If you consider the Diagnostic exam button as the center of clock face, the Diagnostic exam would start
if I clicked not on that button, but instead in the 4 o'clock area, about an inch away, i. e. about 30 degrees below an imagined
positive x-axis. This was on an old Windows XP SP3 system, set to 1024 x 768 resolution.
On a up-to-date 64-bit Windows 7 system, even after after installing it as administrator and running it as administrator, I couldn't
get past the "Error accessing windows registry" message that has been mentioned here:
http://www.coderanch.com/t/538765/java-programmer-SCJP/certification/Examlab-error-accessing-windows-registry
I could get this far only by setting the application to Windows Vista SP2 compatibility. If I didn't run it in compatibility mode,
I would get the other error about being unable to access "internal system files."
