I am planning to purchase the scea study guide - Sun Certified Enterprise Architecture for J2EE Technology Study Guide .

Can you please give me the differences between the old version and 2nd version. Do I need to have both versions for the exam? OR Second version is suffice for the exam?

Also I found a book named - J2EE 1.4: The Big Picture . Is it still valid for the current exam or outdated?

Please advise

Thanks
Subba

Hi,

Don't you think SCEA should be renamed to OCEA (Oracle Certified Enterprise Architect)?

My guess is that the old version is for the older exam and the new version would be for SCEA 1.5. So the newer version would be covering topics as EJB3,JSF which were not on the older version of the exam.

Ranchers,Authors,
Please feel free to correct me.

There are quite good number of changes in exam Part 1 like
1) UML, Protocols, Internationalization are removed
2) EJB upgraded
3) Core JEE Patterns included
4) View techonlogies updated with JSF
5) objective for Webservice refined and SOA included
....
