SCEA Study Guide - Practical Knowledge

Before reading this book and considering certification, do you need to have practical experience in all the areas covered in the exam?

For instance, if you have excellent knowledge of MVC architectures but only book knowledge of JSF will that be a major problem?

Is it essential to have implemented an EJB project?

What other essential practical knowledge do you need (as oppose to a good book knowledge of the topic)?

Does the book make any recommendations about what level of practical knowledge you should attain (e.g. go and implement pet store using JSF and EJBs)?

I'm trying to gauge if the book will guide someone with good software architecture knowledge, but gaps in practical experience, towards the right level of practical knowledge required to progress towards certification.

Cheers

Paul
