How to check if XA transactions are enabled?

Hi. I have some problems with Oracle 10 and Websphere AS 6.1. I think I enabled XA transactions doing the following:

sql>create spfile from pfile
sql>shutdown immediate
sql>startup
sql>ALTER SYSTEM SET JAVA_POOL_SIZE=120M scope=spfile;
sql>ALTER SYSTEM SET SHARED_POOL_SIZE=240M scope=spfile;
sql>create pfile from spfile;
sql>shutdown immediate;
sql>startup;
sql>@C:\oracle\ora10g\javavm\install\initjvm.sql;
sql>@C:\oracle\ora10g\javavm\install\initxa.sql;
sql>grant select,insert,update,delete on DBA_PENDING_TRANSACTIONS to icmadmin;
sql>grant select,insert,update,delete on DBA_PENDING_TRANSACTIONS to system;
sql>shutdown immediate;
sql>startup;
sql>exit;

(found here: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/irm/v8r5m0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.installingirm.doc/rminst0134.htm)

I am not sure if my current problem occurs because XA transactions are still not enabled, or if there is another problem too. So, how can I check whether XA transactions are enabled in the oracle db or not?

Thank you a lot for help...

Hi Kai,

Your script only starts javavm and creates "JAVA_XA" pl/sql package which has java stored functions for "oracle.jdbc.xa.server.*".
What specific error message or stack trace do you face?
Is there any error related to Oracle? Can you share stack trace/error message?

Regards,

Fatih.

Hello Fatih,

I executed the scripts because it was required as written in IBM Websphere documents.

The problem was an XAException, so we thought that the Oracle DB is affected. But the problem is solved now, we deleted all temporary folders of our WAS installation...

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
