I passed SCEA part I with 85% yesterday. Before setting out, i compiled the success stories of others who passed SCEA from here and followed the same. Below is the list of materials from the success stories.
SCEA Study guide - Mark Cade - Security, Design patterns and protocols
Core J2EE patterns - 2ND EDITION
Head First Design Patterns
Core JSF EJB 3 in Action
SOA Using web services - Mark Hansen
SCEA Study Guide - Mikalai Zaikin
I tried all the mock exams as listed here. As this exam is for architects, the need to get familiar with APIs is very less and this exam focuses on the concepts as listed in the exam objectives. If you are in Java/JEE for at least 5 years and have hands on, you are half-way there and you can apply your knowledge gained from work, rationally in the exam to get answers to many questions.
Thanks to all ranchers for their time in clarifying questions
