Not unpacking .war archive in the server

Hi all,

In my tomcat server .WAR archive not unpacking. I need to unpack the .war file in the server.
How can I do that,

How do you generate the .war file? You can use any build script to unpack the .war yourself and then place it in webapps folder of Tomcat

Or you can check your server.xml and set the autodeploy-setting to true (http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/deployer-howto.html#Deploying%20on%20a%20running%20Tomcat%20server).

If your webapp depends on an exploded WAR it's not J2EE/JEE compliant.

And under NO circumstances should you ever write data into an exploded WAR!
