Hi,
I would like to know good performance testing tools be it open source or licensed. Please advice. Also, if there are any good sites that gives the comparison between various tools that would really help us.

There are various tool available in market, some are open source and some are licensed.
Some of them are:

2. JMeter from Apache: http://jakarta.apache.org/jmeter/ :OpenSource
3. JRat: http://jrat.sourceforge.net/ : OpenSource
