Hi there,

on 21/04/2010 I've scheduled an essay exam for 26/04/2010 and was about to upload my deliverables of the assignment. Soon I realized that I do not have appropriate rights. So far so good....the same happened with my SCJD. I asked prometric (SunCert@Prometric.com) to enable me for uploading assignment and expected that tomorrow everything will be ok. Nobody replied. I've read on javaranch that it shouldn't be a problem to take essay exam before uploading assignment (in this particular case). On 26/04/2010 I wrote another email to put more pressure and remind myself to prometric. Nobody replied.

Well, it seems that everybody in prometric is on vacation, so I tried contacting sun via who2contact@sun.com with detailed description of the problem. Nobody replied.

Any suggestion who to contact in this matter?

It looks like the upload process has been stopped. Instead you will have to email your assignment as an email attachment. Also the new instructions clearly indicate that you should take part 3 before submitting your part 2 assignment.

It is very likely that nobody is monitoring the email address that you are sending the email too. Due to the merger, it appears like a lot of people in the certification customer service of Sun education have been let go. So I would suggest that you don't hold your breath waiting for a response from Sun. Instead I would recommend that you take part 3 and then email the part 2 assignment to the email address provided on the Oracle certification page for SCEA.

Good luck with your exam.

I don't think they are not monitoring those addresses. but they are very busy, so it takes a lot of time to answer. I've been answered after 2 weeks, but typically it's a week.

Hi sivan:
How long did you get reply from suncert_ww@oracle.com after sending a email to them?

Some of them I never got a response. The usual wait period I have noticed is about 10 business days for my case. For this specific question (about whether they received my assignment or not) I got a response after 15 days but the response was not of any help - it did not say whether they received it or not. It simply said it may take upto 6-8 weeks depending on volume. Does that mean they got the assignment or they simply replied based on a template I had no clue. Anyway the next week I got the congratulations email from Sun. With a better organization, folks taking the test and managing them can make better use of their time. I completely understand your pain. Hopefully you will get your results soon.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
