Unable to Launch my Websphere Portal Server Home Page.

I am very new to Web Sphere Portal Server and the implementation of Portlets.
I have got Web Sphere Portal Server installed on my machine and could successfully start it.
But if I try hitting the home page for eg: "http://hyddl6535.cts.com:10040/wps/portal" or "http://hyddl6535.cts.com:10040/wps/portal/home", a blank page is getting opened.
And the Error Log is: Dispatcher Ser E com.ibm.wps.services.dispatcher.Dispatcher Service Impl handle Request EJPFD0005E: Request Dispatcher not found for null.
This is the same message given for whatever the page I hit. 
where am i going wrong? Please suggest as I'm unable to understand how to proceed.
