'thanks' email

When you send an email asking for some information to any of your colleague, you say 'thanks' in that email.
Do you send another email reply saying just 'thank you' when he/she responds with the information?

I don't send 2nd 'thanks'. It's redundant. However I do like it when someone sends that to me.
