Property inside an ActionScript class

Hi

Please let me know whether :

Is it mantadatory that every property inside an Action class should start with an _property name(underscore)


When I have done with using _property name (underscore) . This worked fine and
when i tried with out _(underscore) .it is showing an Red cross Mark indicating function names are doesn't have a match
